ORIGINS
Building on their family heritage in hardware and tools from Kenya, East Africa, two brothers and their nephew founded Allied Hardware in Harrow, North West London, in 1975.

1976
ALLIED HARDWARE
In 1976, Allied Hardware opened its doors and started selling tools, paints, homeware, and eventually brass door and window hardware.

1983
NEW PREMISES LOCATED
In 1983, recognising the need to expand their operations, the business moved to a larger location in central London and began specialising exclusively in brass door, window, and cabinet ironmongery.

1984
REBRAND
Allied Hardware rebranded as A & H Brass and opened a new showroom on Edgware Road in central London, where the business continues to be operated by the original founders to this day.

1991
STOCKHOLDING
A & H Brass stock lines expanded significantly, offering products in additional finishes like polished chrome and satin chrome, necessitating more space to accommodate the inventory.

1995
LIGHTING PRODUCTS INTRODUCED
The introduction of lighting products complemented the existing lines, including bathroom accessories and electrical switches and sockets.

2005
'IN FINISHES' CATALOGUE PUBLISHED
In 2005, a significant catalogue was launched, featuring additional finishes such as antique brass and bronze, reflecting evolving consumer preferences. This release was one of ten catalogues produced.

LATEST WEBSITE LAUNCHED
A new website was developed during the lockdown period and launched in February 2021, demonstrating a commitment to continual improvement by expanding product offerings and finishes.
