Standard Finishes

Polished Chrome (CP)

DESCRIPTION

A bright chromium plate on top of a nickel plated, highly polished mirror finish, solid brass surface. Chromium plating is a very hard wearing, stable finish, suitable for most environments.

CARE

An occasional wipe with a dampened cloth or a good light oil (WD40) or Lanolin is recommended.

Satin Chrome (SCP)

DESCRIPTION

A satin chromium plate on top of a nickel plated, sateen polished, solid brass surface. Chromium plating is a very hard wearing, stable finish, suitable for most environments. N.B. Satin Chrome finish may vary between different suppliers.

CARE

An occasional wipe with a dampened cloth or a good light oil (WD40) or Lanolin is recommended.

POLISHED BRASS (PB)

DESCRIPTION

A highly polished, mirror finish solid brass surface, with a high performance electrophoretic lacquer protection. Electrophoretic lacquer offers superior adhesion, durability and corrosion resistance over conventional lacquers.

CARE

Regular dusting with a soft cloth and occasional application of a good quality wax furniture polish will help prolong the life of the lacquer, which should on no account be treated with metal polishes or abrasive cleaners. It must however be borne in mind that however good the lacquer and however well applied, it remains a thin coat of protective material that will eventually break down, particularly when confronted with difficult atmospheric conditions or prolonged exterior exposure. The life of lacquer is beyond our control and cannot be guaranteed.

ANTIQUE GOLD (AG)

DESCRIPTION

Antique Gold has base layers of copper and nickel, with a final layer of real gold. Resulting in a subtle light gold finish.

An occasional wipe with a soft cloth is sufficient.

Polished Nickel (PN)

DESCRIPTION

A bright nickel plate on top of a highly polished mirror finish, solid brass surface. Polished Nickel is similar to Polished chrome in that they both have silver tones, with nickel having a slightly warmer tone.

SATIN NICKEL (SN)

DESCRIPTION

A satin nickel plate on top of a sateen polished solid brass surface. Satin Nickel is similar to Satin Chrome in that they both have matt silver tones, with nickel having a slightly warmer shade.

DESCRIPTION

A sateen polished solid brass surface given a medium bronze antique patina, supplied with a clear lacquer coating. N.B. Matt lacquer available on request

DESCRIPTION

Black Nickel is made up of zinc and nickel which produces a mirror nickel finish with subtle tones of dark grey and black.

PEWTER (PEW)

DESCRIPTION

Pewter is achieved by nickel plating on brass which has been dulled and darkened to simulate pewter. This is a semi-mirror finish.

To remove the effects of natural ageing (oxidisation) clean with a metal polish, an occasional light application of a good quality wax will reduce the need for subsequent cleaning.

FINE ANTIQUE BRASS (FAB)

DESCRIPTION

Hand polished and patinated to age the brass, expertly distressed with directional brushwork and beeswax polished and finished.

NEW BRONZE WAXED (NBW)

DESCRIPTION

This oil rubbed bronze has a warm brown-black patina with brass highlights. Finished with a wax the patina will develop over time.

REGAL GOLD (GP)

DESCRIPTION

Regal Gold is a finish has base layers of copper and nickel, with a final layer of real gold. Resulting in a bright gold finish.

BUTLERS SILVER (BTS)

DESCRIPTION

92.5% pure silver plate on top of a highly polished, mirror finish, solid brass surface. This is then lightly oxidized and carefully hand burnished to produce an appearance of ‘well cared for’ vintage silver – as if looked after for centuries by fastidious Butlers. This is a living finish, intended to gradually oxidize & patina over time. It can be cleaned with metal polish, if preferred, to maintain the original finish.

DESCRIPTION

ANTIQUE SILVER (ASV)

DESCRIPTION

92.5% pure silver plate on top of a highly polished, mirror finish, solid brass surface. This is then oxidized and lightly hand burnished to produce an antique appearance. This is a lacquered finish.

DESCRIPTION
